The process of the I Olympiad has come to an end. Long has been the road and striking the effort to achieve all that we have come to fruition. The events held on Friday at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, UAM and Saturday in San Isidro IES perfectly fulfilled the planned objectives.
On Friday, after the opening of the final protocol of the I Olympiad Philosophical Madrid, Jorge Pérez of Tudela attracted the attention of 200 students and teachers of high school that filled the room completely acts with its evocative reflections about personal identity. After intermission, students from two institutes discussed with rigor and intensity of the proposed item, also making many people were present to join the debate on interventions that lasted until 13:30. After a buffet in the lobby of the Faculty of Arts, four groups of students visited various facilities of the Campus of Cantoblanco .
final on Saturday started at 9:30 in the library of IES San Isidro. The 20 finalists had to answer the question posed by the Organising Committee : "Can you meet someone better than you know yourself?". While doing the exercise, about 30 teachers held a meeting to assess the I Olympiad. The general opinion was very positive and it was clear the commitment to continue the next school year, expanding the committee organizing and creating a stable work group. The minutes of the meeting will be sent to everyone who participated in the I Olympiad.
Over the year, began the lecture by José Antonio Marina debate was followed with great interest by the more than 100 people who were in the hall. At 13:00 came the awaited moment: Miguel Salmeron, professor in the Department of Philosophy at the UAM , Who participated in the correction of the presentations of the finalists, presided over the ceremony of the awards, which were also César Sáenz , director of IUCE , Francisca Hernandez and Elisa Favaro , the SEPFI , and José Antonio Marina who had shown interest in participating in the awards. The event was something more thrilling because the exercises selected for the first three awards had been given a pseudonym, so first read the ID and then the name of the person. Began with the third prize and ended with the first prize. Y named the winner, had to read in public the work he had written in the final. There were three good jobs that cost choice because the overall level of 20 finalists was quite good.
